Booking opened up to my advance notice list for this year’s beach minis, which means it’s the perfect time to reminisce about last year! We had SO MUCH RAIN last year. I don’t think I’ve ever had to reschedule beach minis so many times. I studied the weather radar like a hawk and despite that, got caught in the rain multiple times. But despite all of the weather frustrations, these were some of my favourite beach sessions to date. Here are some highlights!
When Sarah and Jacob requested Storybook Gardens for their engagement session, I was intrigued. I’d been there with my kiddos, but never to shoot. The park had special significance to Sarah and Jacob, and I was excited to see it empty (because it’s usually an anxiety-inducing mix of stressed out parents and hundreds of kids on a collective sugar high, haha). We had a blast exploring, and I loved how playful and fun this session ended up being. Here are some favourites!

I have been lucky enough to photograph Darcy, Jessie and Max since Max was a toddler, and each session is so much fun. We’ve done home sessions, beach sessions, woodsy sessions, and in this case, a Western University campus session, and regardless of the location there is always guaranteed to be lots of laughter, silliness, running and piggy back rides. I love seeing this beautiful, fun family every year. For this session, we pushed through despite rain in the forecast and had a blast (as usual!). Here are some favourites from our rainy day session.
It rained all morning, and we almost cancelled. But I’m so glad we didn’t, because despite some muddy trails and wet grass, we had such a lovely time capturing some extended family photos in the woods. One of my favourite things about these sessions is watching grandparents interacting wth their grandkids, and this shoot was no exception. Scroll down to see what I mean!
Jen is one of my dearest friends. We met while working as early childhood educators when I first moved to London, before babies and career changes took us in different directions. But despite not seeing each other at work every day, our friendship has grown over the last 10 years - one of those friendships where you can not chat for 6 months and then pick up right where you left off and talk for hours. It was such joy to take these family photos for Jen and her beautiful family back in the Fall of 2017, and I’m so glad to finally be sharing some favourites on the blog today.
