London Ontario Family Photographer | Port Stanley Beach Session

Sarah is such an incredible woman. She was my doula for both of my girls, and occupies a very special place in my heart. Before I even get to the photos from her family's Port Stanley beach session, let me say this: If you are expecting and are considering hiring a doula, #1: DO IT. I promise you will not regret it. #2: Call Sarah. :) The day of their family session was perfect - sunny and warm with the perfect touch of lakeside wind. It was an honour and a pleasure to capture Sarah's family laughing and having fun together. Here are some favourites from their session.

London Ontario Wedding Photographer | Christina & Justin's Marconi Club Wedding

It has been so wonderful to blog these photos from Christina and Justin's wedding and relive all of the happy moments that filled this day. Two words to describe this wedding from start to finish: HAPPY and FUN! Christina and Justin had people flying in from all over the world to celebrate their wedding, and it's not hard to see why. These two exude love and joy, and their families were so warm and sweet. I found myself smiling from ear to ear all day long - from their beautiful traditional ceremony at St Peter's Basilica to their relaxed portrait session on the King's College campus (relaxed because they allowed SO much time for photos. No rushing! No stress! And all the photographers said AMEN!), to their beautiful reception at the Marconi Club. There were so many fun moments and sweet traditions that made this day truly unique and meaningful, and it was an absolute pleasure and privilege to document it.

As always a huge thank you to my wonderful and talented second shooter and assistant, Orsolya Gyorgy! xo

London Ontario Family Photographer | Comparing Beach and Downtown Locations

I have the pleasure of photographing this beautiful family every year. Natalie is a dear friend and fellow photographer, and her twin boys are just the sweetest. When the Young family's Summer beach session came up in my blogging queue, I decided to blog both of their 2015 sessions together and include their downtown Fall photos as well. From there came the idea for this post - comparing two very different locations for a portrait session. Same family, two very different styles. The possibilities are endless when deciding on a location for your family session... beach, woods, field, downtown, in-home, outside your favourite ice cream shop... It all depends on the overall style you prefer and the type of setting you feel will be the best fit for your family. During their beach session, Natalie's boys had the freedom to play and explore, and the location offered more opportunities to capture candid interactions. During their downtown session, no one had to worry about outfits getting covered in sand and toddlers falling in the water. During their beach session, it was barefoot and carefree attire. During their downtown session, everyone got to dress up and wear amazing shoes. There really is no right or wrong answer when trying to pick your family session location, but if you really can't decide between two options, just do like this beautiful bunch - try both! :)

London Ontario Wedding Photographer | Jim and Michelle's Purple Hill Wedding

Jim and Michelle got married on one of the hottest days of the Summer at the beautiful Purple Hill Country Hall. It was such a fun -  albeit hot and humid! - day. Michelle is a school teacher, and I loved that they chose to use a school bus to transport the wedding party. Such a fun personal touch! Later in the evening, the entire wedding party joined Jim and Michelle on stage with some instruments after being announced in and playing a song for all of the guests. This wedding was full of unique and meaningful details that really reflected who Jim and Michelle are as a couple. Here are some favourites from their day.

As always a big thank you to my wonderful second shooter, Orsolya Gyorgy!

London Ontario Wedding Photographer | Jay & Sarah's Stratford Festival Wedding

Oh boy, where to begin with this wedding? It was a dream from start to finish. A beautifully intimate ceremony on a tiny little island nestled in the heart of Stratford. Portraits along the Avon River and a  gorgeous reception in the Stratford Festival, with giant windows letting in rich, creamy pre-sunset light for the dreamiest first dance photos. Oh, and not to mention a sweet and lovely couple that I could photograph for days. I loved this wedding, and I'm so happy to finally be sharing some favourites from this beautiful day!

Many many thanks to the wonderful and talented Orsolya Gyorgy for second shooting and assisting! <3

London Ontario Wedding Photographer | Katelyn & Kirk's Beautiful Backyard Garden Wedding

Ok, so it's been a *little while* since my last blog post. This has been a busy Summer/Fall for me, with lots of fabulous weddings and portraits, a new baby to care for and a 4-year-old starting school. It's all been wonderful, but unfortunately I haven't blogged quite as often as I would have liked during that time. With Fall in full swing and my wedding season nearing its end, I'm excited to slowly start blogging again and sharing all of the wonderful people that have been in front of my lens over the past few months. First up - Katelyn and Kirk and their gorgeous backyard garden wedding, full of DIY goodness and thoughtful touches. Everything about this day was perfection, from the first look on a secluded tree-lined path to portraits under a massive willow tree, to a ceremony in the most amazing backyard garden and a first dance under twinkle lights. I told you it was perfect. :)

Many thanks to the lovely and talented Priya McHardie for assisting and second shooting for this wedding!

London Ontario Wedding Photographer | Ryan & Deanna's Museum London Wedding

It doesn't get much sweeter than these two! I absolutely loved getting to know Ryan and Deanna and photographing their gorgeous wedding. The fact that they are first and foremost the best of friends really shines through, and the love surrounding them on both sides is truly beautiful (like, try-not-to-cry-during-speeches-cause-you're-just-the-photographer-beautiful). Here are some of my favourites from their special day. <3

As usual, thank you so much to my fabulous second shooter, Orsolya Gyorgy!

London Ontario Wedding Photographer | Jay and Sarah's Wortley Village Engagement

When I first "met" Jay and Sarah via Skype I was immediately struck by how kind and genuine they were, and I so hoped that I would be given the honour of shooting their wedding. Lucky me, that wedding is coming up this weekend and I couldn't be more excited! We explored Wortley Village at sunset for their engagement session and had so much fun. Scroll down and check out their adorable dog. Melt my heart! <3

London Ontario Photographer | Magnolia Blossom Mini Sessions

This is the first year I've decided to do three rounds of mini sessions, and to open them up to everyone - families, couples, maternity, you name it! The first round was in early May under a beautiful blooming Magnolia tree, and it was a perfect way for me to kick start my photography season after a short (but very sweet!) maternity leave. :) Here are a few favourites from those minis. They were taken throughout the early morning and evening, and it went from cloudy to sunny to cloudy to sunny... so the lighting in each set is a bit different.

Can't wait for the Summer Beach Minis and the Fall Wild Field Minis coming up!
