I loved meeting and photographing this adorable bunch! We started out at the Covent Garden market to capture one of their favourite things to do as a family - shop for specialty cheeses! We then explored the downtown area a bit and captured their sweet interactions in front of cool buildings, busy streets and ivy covered walls (my favourite!). Here is a peek at our downtown family session.
London Ontario Family Photography | The Young Family
And the cutest family award goes to... No, but seriously. How adorable is my gorgeous friend Natalie's little family? Love these guys so much and am so privileged to call them friends and almost-neighbours. Natalie (the photographer behind Mint Photography) and I have been enjoying conversation over warm drinks and muffins and swapping photos since before the twins came around. I still remember the post-ultrasound text letting me know that there was not one baby but TWO. Now it's hard to remember life without them! Skyler and Bryson are the sweetest pair of boys you'll ever meet, and it was such a joy to photograph this beautiful family this past Fall. Shoutout to my 3-year-old daughter Neve who spent most of this photoshoot "assisting" me and hanging out on a quilt nearby. Here are some of my favourites from our session!
London Ontario Family Photographer | Darcy, Jessie & Max
I love this family! I've had the honour and pleasure (and workout, haha!) of photographing them many times now, and it's been such a joy to get to know them and watch Max grow up (how cute is he!?). What I love the most about them is their desire to have their family's true personality captured candidly, which means lots of laughs and playing and running around. Here are some of my favourite images from last Fall's sunset park date!
London Ontario Wedding Photographer | Joslyn & Rory's Engagement
I was so thrilled for these two when they contacted me about shooting their engagement session. I photographed their sweet little family at the beach a year prior, and couldn't wait to see them again! Rory and Joslyn are adorable and hilarious, and we had a blast exploring the woods at sunset, taking in the breathtaking Autumn colours all around us. Here are my favourites from our session!
London Ontario Family Photography | Lindsey and Aubrey's Mother Daughter Sunset Session
I first met Lindsey, a photographer herself, at my Mother's Day Minis a few years ago. Naturally, I was so excited when she contacted me again to capture some candid images of her and her beautiful daughter Aubrey. The golden pre-sunset light was perfection, and we had fun playing and dancing in a gorgeous wild field. The relationship between a mother and her child is so sacred and sweet, and it was an absolute honour to help Lindsey document her special bond with her girl. I just loved this session - here are my favourites!
London Ontario Wedding Photographer | Emily and Chris' Whistle Bear Golf Club Wedding
On my way home from shooting this incredible wedding, I thought to myself: I cannot wait to blog this wedding! Emily and Chris are one of a kind, truly. From the moment I met them at a crowded Starbucks to discuss wedding plans I fell in love with their authenticity, optimism and kindness. Their engagement session was positively dreamy, and their wedding was absolutely wonderful. There are so many things that made this day so special and memorable. The Fall scenery at Whistle Bear Golf Club was breathtaking and the crisp air perfection. Emily shared a first look with her dad, something I've never seen done before, and it was so moving to capture. Emily and Chris' first look was so positively happy and giddy, just overflowing with genuine emotion. Emily repeating to Chris "Just smell the air, look around, take it in, we need to remember this moment!" is one of my favourite memories from their wedding. Emily and Chris both lost their moms, and they found so many lovely ways to honour their memory and celebrate them throughout the day. It was just a beautiful, loving, joyful day from beginning to end, and to say it was an honour to document it would be a huge understatement! Emily and Chris, I admire the two of you so much and am so happy for you as you start your new life together. Wishing you nothing but the best moving forward!
A big thank you to my fabulous second shooter Lea Legg!
London Ontario Wedding Photography | Emma & Matt
I actually met Emma and Matt in person for the first time on their wedding day, since they were coming in from Ottawa and weren't able to squeeze in an engagement session beforehand. They are such a lovely couple and it was a pleasure to get to know and photograph them on their beautiful wedding day! The golden pre-sunset light during their portraits was so dreamy, and it was an all around gorgeous October day. Here are some of my favourites!
As always a huge thank you to my wonderful second shooter and assistant Orsolya Gyorgy! xoxo
The Mama Journal | Bebe Makes Four
On February 8th at 3:01am, we welcomed our sweet Naia Rose into our lives, and our hearts just about exploded with love.
I keep catching myself hitting the imaginary pause button in my head and just taking it all in. I am a mother of two beautiful girls - how did i get so lucky?
Neve, with her silky blonde hair that curls at the bottom, giant inquisitive blue eyes, and bursting with creativity, joy and kindness. Her determination and passion both exasperate and inspire me. Her compassionate and generous heart is forever teaching me to love more deeply and give more freely. She is my treasure, my little assistant, the one with whom I have shared everything - from picnics to household chores - with for the last 3 1/2 years.
In the last three weeks she has shown so much love and sweetness towards her new baby sister, rocking her in her arms and singing made-up lullabies, helping with every diaper change and outfit change, rushing to her side at the sound of every cry, calling out to every classmate at nursery school: "Look at my baby! Isn't she cute?"
Her entire world has been rocked, and while she's definitely had her moments of extra sensitivity and out-of-character boundary pushing in the last three weeks, her little heart has opened up big to welcome her sister, and it has brought me to tears on more than one occasion. (#hormones)
Then there's this sweet little peach. Little Naia, born after an intense whirlwind labour at 7lbs 5oz of perfect sweetness, looking so much like her sister. Cheeks so soft, a button nose so sweet and rosy lips so perfect I just want to kiss them constantly. It's amazing how natural it has felt to slip back into mothering a newborn. Every night I sit in bed nursing my warm little bundle, stroking her little head, thinking to myself how crazy and wonderful it is to be back in this place. I already love her so much. She holds such a big piece of my heart, and I am soaking up this season of having her so close to me, of being so in-sych with her every need.
She's only been in our arms for three weeks, but it's hard to image life without her. Sometimes I'll catch myself talking about "the girls" in conversation with David and I can't help but smile because it still feels so new and special to have this expression be a part of our lives now. Girls. Plural. We should travel here when the girls are older. The girls would have so much fun doing this. Can you keep an eye on the girls?
Life is starting to feel normal again. A new normal. A sweeter normal. Sure, that new normal is a little bit more chaotic and complicated. Let's be real... it involves less sleep and more responsibilities and requires me to meet the physical needs of an infant while nurturing the emotional needs of a three-year-old. It involves me getting up to soothe big sister's fever at 3am a mere 5 minutes after nursing and settling the little one. It involves me holding a kleenex in each hand and simultaneously wiping a runny nose and catching baby spit-up. It involves me trying to dress this awkward post-baby body and struggling to occasionally apply a bit of makeup so that I can feel semi-presentable some of the time. But all of those real ups and downs of motherhood are just part of this very rich and worthwhile journey. Because most of all, this new normal finds me filled to the brim with so much love and gratitude for this incredible gift that I've been given. Two beautiful girls to call me 'maman'.
London Ontario Wedding Photographer | Luke & Sara's Cambridge Engagement
I first met Luke and Sara when I photographed Luke's family on their beautiful Cambridge property in the Fall of 2013. It was such a fun session, and I was overjoyed when I found out Luke and Sara were getting married and wanted me to photograph them once again! I travelled back to Cambridge for their engagement session this past Fall, where they will also be hosting their backyard wedding. The first thing they did at the beginning of our session was plant a tree, which was such a fun, special moment to be able to document. It's always such an honour when a family invites me into their lives to share in the big moments, and I'm so grateful to have connected with such a beautiful family. Here are some of my favourites from our session!
London Ontario Wedding Photographer | Ashley & Derek's Golden Hour Engagement
Ahhh, golden hour. That delicious window just before the sun sets (or shortly after sunrise). It's the time of day I try to shoot in as much as possible, because when the conditions are right (not overcast!), the light is magic. There are things I love about shooting in rainy, snowy, overcast, foggy and misty weather too, and I think beautiful photos can happen in any weather. But that golden delicious pre-sunset light holds a special place in my heart, and I was so thrilled that the sun came out to play on the evening of Derek and Ashley's session! It was such a delight to finally photograph Ashley and Derek. We'd already met at a coffee shop to chat about their big day, and Ashley and I initially connected through Instagram, believe it or not! These two are such a sweet couple, and I just love how in love they are. They are so clearly crazy about each other, which makes capturing their connection so special. I cannot wait for their wedding day! Here are some favourites from our session.
