Extended family sessions always have that added challenge of larger groups and multiple combinations to capture, but they are also a little extra special because I get to witness and capture multiple generations loving each other and laughing together. Grandparents tickling grandbabies, adult siblings laughing as they reminisce about "back in the day" and two people who, even after all these years, look at each other with so much love. The Card Family was no exception, and it was such a pleasure to capture their beautiful crew. Here are some favourites!
London Ontario Wedding Photographer | Jess and Jason's Intimate Wedding
I've neglected my poor little blog over the past very busy season, but I'm back with a new resolve to get back to sharing my work here, and I'm picking up where I left off - with Jess and Jason's intimate, in-home wedding ceremony. These two set up the loveliest little ceremony in their living room, with their own dining room table adorned with the most gorgeous teapot floral arrangements. We headed to the nearby woods for some intimate couple portraits afterwards and were greeted with the most beautiful golden November light. I just loved this day and am so thrilled to finally be sharing my favourites here on the blog.
London Ontario Family Photographer - Fall Mini Sessions
As I'm booking up this year's Fall Minis, I'm also reminiscing about last year's! They were held in a golden wild field - which is my favourite setting to shoot in during the Fall. I do love vibrant leaves, but there's just something about wild grasses in Autumn that inspires me. I am in love with all these mini sessions and am SO exciting for this year's Fall minis in October! Here are my favourites.
London Ontario Family Photography | The Smith Family
I've said it before and I'll say it again - I LOVE photographing families over time! Getting to know them and seeing their kiddos grow up is the greatest privilege and so much fun. This was my third time photographing the Smith family, and it was a delight as well as a workout. ; ) Many games of tag and hide and seek were played, and much exploring took place on this beautiful, golden Fall evening! Here are some favourites from their session!
Waterloo Ontario Wedding Photographer | Alisha & Kyle's Grey Silo Wedding
I'm so thrilled to finally be blogging Alisha and Kyle's gorgeous Grey Silo wedding. I travelled to Waterloo on one of the coldest October days last year. It was SO cold, but this couple was simply radiant, the wedding details were impeccable and the locations beautiful. Alisha and Kyle made so many great decisions that ensured their photos would be the best they could be - like selecting getting ready locations that were clean, bright and airy, planning a stunning indoor backup location with tons of character and natural light (that we ended up using because of the cold!) and choosing an equally gorgeous outdoor photo location at the perfect time of day (pre-sunset light!). Because they had allotted lots of time for portraits, we weren't stressed for time and they got a ton of photos with so much variety. As far as golf courses go, Grey Silo has one of the nicest, brightest, classiest event rooms I've seen. I love these images so much and am so excited to finally share them here on the blog. Enjoy!
A big thank you to my second shooter and assistant, Orsolya Gyorgy!
London Ontario Lifestyle Photographer | Port Stanley Beach Minis
Last year I held my first beach minis, and they were awesome. I always look forward to beach shoots every Summer, and so does my family... because usually they tag along and play in the sand while I shoot! This year's beach minis (July 8th, 9th) sold out to the advance notice list, however a third night has been opened up (July 10th) for the waiting list, and there are a couple of spots still up for grabs to anyone interested! Contact my at Sophie@rawfootagephotos.com to inquire, and scroll below to see some highlights from last year's Port Stanley Beach Minis!
London Ontario Family Lifestyle Photographer | The Levasseur Family
This past Fall I had the pleasure of meeting the sweet and adorable Levasseur family for a photo session in the woods. Their lovely little Belle is such a treasure, and despite the chilly air she did amazing. These three were a total breeze to photograph because their connection and love for each other is so tangible. I loved our shoot together and am so happy to be sharing my favourites on the blog!
London Ontario Wedding Photographer | Stephanie & Chris' Bellamere Winery Wedding
As a photographer, it's my job to make the most of any situation with a smile, including days where it doesn't rain, it pours. I always try to reassure couples that rain doesn't mean game over, it just means plan B. That said, I also know firsthand what it feels like to be a bride with big plans for an outdoor wedding wake up to rain on her wedding day. When I showed up to Stephanie's hotel room to photograph her getting ready moments, I was expecting a bit of natural disappointment due to the weather. But what I found was a girl who couldn't be more excited to be marrying the love of her life, rain or no rain, and was prepared to embrace this amazing day. Stephanie's positive and bubbly demeanour set the tone for the entire day, and her pure joy was simply contagious. One of my favourite rainy day backups is the use of a greenhouse for portraits. Dry, full of plants and flowers, and lots of natural light. Check, check, check! This time it was Parkway Gardens that came through for us, and I absolutely loved our short but sweet couple shoot there following a beautiful ceremony at Bellamere. The colours were vibrant and Chris and Stephanie, as always, were simply glowing with love for each other.
Photographing this wedding and getting to know Chris and Stephanie and their families was an absolute delight. I'm so excited to share some of my favourites from their wedding day! Enjoy!
A big thank you to my amazing second shooter, Orsolya Gyorgy! xo
London Ontario Photographer | Nat & Britt's Lifestyle Headshot Session
One of the photography trends that I'm loving these days is the move towards lifestyle headshots "in the wild" as opposed to formal studio headshots. There's a time and purpose for both styles, but a more casual, artistic approach is definitely what resonates more with me as a photographer, and it's something I love doing. I was so thrilled when best friend bloggers Natalie Young and Britt Havens asked me to do some lifestyle promotional photos for them. Sadly, they made the difficult decision to close their blog (Three Little Crowns) before they could use these new branding shots, but I couldn't let them go to waste, so to speak! I'm so happy to be sharing some of my favourites here on the blog today. Are you a creative, a blogger, an entrepreneur needing fun, casual branding headshots that represent your personality? Let's chat! :)
London Ontario Family Photographer | The Kucharski Family
It's so hard to believe that the first time I had this gorgeous family in front of my lens, sweet little only-child Anya was just a tiny little babe. Now's she a big sister to the ever adorable Mila, and I've had the privilege of photographing them several times over the last few years. Last Fall we found ourselves in the woods on a rainy evening for their family session, and despite the grey skies and wet grass, we had so much fun. I just love this family and always enjoy capturing their candid love of life and each other. Here are some favourites from their session!
